A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10.

6/10: I could sleep late and hope the raindrops will end by noon. It could be considerably better than a 6 at the end of the day.

  • This day: Rains, concentrated early. Afternoon cleaning? Highs: mid to upper 70s.
  • Tonight: A couple of showers possible. Bass: Low mid-60s.
  • Morning: Partly cloudy. Showers and thunderstorms concentrated late. Highs: Lows in the mid 80s.

Although we have some relatively cool air today, the pattern ahead looks like a classic summer. The warmer air makes its move from Sunday. Bring moisture for the ride. As temperatures climb into the 90s early in the work week, the chances of storms bombarding us from the Northwest may increase as well.

Today Saturday): Showers and maybe a thunderstorm around during the morning. The raindrops should tend to decrease and we will probably reach some clearing in the afternoon. Winds are light and variable around five to 10 mph, mainly from the south at the end of the day. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: Like last night, the chances of rain increase near and after midnight. Everything that falls is quite light and intermittent. Light winds blow from the south. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow Sunday): It’s a sensual start and stays moist throughout the day. Temperatures are striving to get into the mid-80s, but heavy afternoon showers and thunderstorms could thwart that effort. A couple of storms could be strong to severe, with wind damage and heavy rain, along with lightning, the main threats. Winds are from the south and southwest around five to 10 mph. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: Once the daytime showers and storms end, the sky will be partly cloudy. With dew points in the mid to upper 60s in most places, it won’t get very cold. Look for lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Maybe some patchy fog, especially anywhere it rains during the day. Confidence: Medium

It’s a good start to the work week at Monday. Skies are mostly sunny as temperatures climb into the 90s for highs. We could see an isolated storm or two in the heat of the last day. Confidence: Medium

By Tuesday, we’re going to have to watch northwest and west. We are entering the mesoscale convective system (MCS) season. This is when we have storm complexes plunging into us in the higher level flow. If the timing is right, they can be quite intense. We should have plenty of heat and humidity around, with highs near the 90s. Confidence: Low-Medium
