Best MLB Bets Today: Free MLB Expert Picks for Thursday, June 16

Hello everyone and welcome back to the MLB season. The gap between good and bad is wide and it gets bigger as the favorites start to dominate the game. Right now, I count approximately 13 teams already playing for next year, leaving 17 to contend for the playoffs. Is that good or bad for the sport? I’m not sure, but I do know that it offers us opportunities on the betting front. We have a great list of games ahead of us today, so let’s get to it.

Philadelphia Phillies at the Washington Nationals

These teams and pitchers are all too familiar when Philadelphia’s Zack Wheeler and Washington’s Patrick Corbin square off in the nation’s capital. Both pitchers have had success against opposition in their careers and I will build on that past success with my bass recommendation. While Corbin has been pretty brutal this year, the Nats just don’t score many runs, particularly against Wheeler. As long as the bullpens hold up, I can easily see that this is a comfortable 5-1/6-2 victory for the Phillies tonight. At a decent value, I’ll give it a go tonight.

milwaukee brewers at the New York Mets

The Brewers just aren’t a very good team right now. Last night’s offensive explosion was an aberration and will probably flip the other way against the Mets’ Tylor Megill. While it’s worth taking a look at the bottom here, my recommendation is to jump on the losing Mets and potentially take advantage of them along with one or two other heavy favorites (ie Boston, San Diego or Toronto) as the favorites. they’ve been red hot in MLB for the last couple of weeks. The Mets are a far superior team here and are getting a little boost in value because of last night’s result.

Best MLB Bets for Milwaukee at NY Mets

texas rangers on the detroit tigers

Quietly, Martin Perez has been really good for the plucky Rangers, who currently sit second in the AL West. Meanwhile, the underwhelming Tigers just can’t seem to put anything together and starter Beau Brieske is unlikely to be the type to reverse that course. As I mentioned earlier, the favorites are crushing it lately and I see no reason not to endorse the favorite here, even at a hefty price tag. In addition to the Rangers, with Perez on the mound and the Tigers’ anemic offense, I think the bass is also worth a look.

Los Angeles Angels on the Seattle Mariners

The highly disappointing Angels finally get a break in the schedule to aid in their efforts to turn the ship around. After clashing with the Blue Jays, Yankees, Red Sox, Mets and Dodgers in recent weeks, LA hosts the Mariners and Royals for the next 11 games. The revamped Mariners have also been pretty underwhelming as they struggle to put anything together. Shohei Ohtani has been very ready on the mound for the Angels and will take the ball in an effort to stop LA’s 11-game losing streak on the road. I think he finishes it tonight with a lot of effort.
