CROSS FORKS – Music lovers rejoice, the annual Smoked Country Jam music festival continues today and runs through the weekend at Quiet Oaks Campground in Cross Forks.
“Whether the music is traditional or progressive, American, vintage or roots, everyone shares on stage with each other,” said the festival website, www.smokedcountryjam.com. “The festival showcases the past, present and future of this American-made music.”
This multi-day event features a wide range of music on two stages with vendors, food and more.
The Quiet Oaks Stage is the place to be starting today at 11 am The following bands will perform, with a new one taking the stage every hour until 10 pm: Wicked Chicken at 11 am; Doug Forshey at 12:00; Revival of the Dead Horse at 1 pm; Colebrook Road at 2 p.m.; Unspoken tradition at 3 pm; Buffalo Rose at 4 p.m.; Doug Forshey at 5 p.m.; Mama Corn at 6 pm; Colebrook Road at 7 p.m.; Unspoken Tradition at 8 pm; The Alex Leach Band at 9 pm; Collective by the fire at 10 p.m.
Meanwhile, the PA Wilds stage will host eight bands beginning at 1:30 p.m. The lineup is as follows: The Lockport Drifters at 1:30 p.m.; Private Stock Trio at 2:30 pm; The Clyde Canton Band at 3:30 pm; Van Wagner at 5:30 p.m.; Pocono Jones and the Bear at 6:30 p.m.; Dead Horse revival at 7:30 pm; Pink Buffalo at 8:30 pm
If you don’t get a chance to hear these artists tonight, don’t worry, many will be returning to the Quiet Oaks Stage or appearing on the PA Wilds Stage on Saturday.
Performances on the Quiet Oaks Stage start again at 11 a.m. and run until 10 p.m. They include: Shameless Hex at 11 a.m.; Johnny Lits Jerry Duty at 12pm; Fernando el Toro at 1 p.m.; In the fog at 2 pm; Driftwood at 3 p.m.; Fireside Collective at 4 pm; PHSC at 5 pm; bug fight at 6 pm; Mama Corn at 7 pm; Hillbilly Gypsies at 8:00 p.m.; Driftwood at 9 p.m.; Collective by the fire at 10 p.m.
The PA Wilds stage will feature the following artists: Big Tussle at 1:30 pm; Mama Corn at 2:30 p.m.; Hillbilly Gypsies at 3:30 p.m.; Shameless Hex at 4:30 pm; Johnny Lits Jerry Duty at 5:30 p.m.; In the fog at 6:30 pm; Fernando el Toro at 7:30 p.m.; Katie and Chance of Dead Horse Revival at 8:30 p.m.
The event also features a Lupus Auction to benefit the Lupus Foundation of America; a full schedule of bluegrass workshops, children’s activities, a beautiful midway vendor, and the Pennsylvania Heritage Songwriting Contest.
