Ben Heisler and Donnavan Smoot are back to give you their best bets from tonight’s WNBA slate.
Wednesday was a good day for the team. We picked our spots, going 0-2 in the Aces-Wings game and 2-0 in the Mercury-Fever game. Overall it was a 3-3 day.
There’s only one game on the schedule tonight and it’s coming from New York. The Liberty are looking to upset the Mystics for the second time this season. Washington got back on track with a rematch victory over the Mercury on Tuesday night. Can they keep up with the growing freedom?
Let’s get into our picks for the night.

The best bets between Mystics and Liberty
Mystics -4.5 vs. Liberty (-110)
The last time these teams played, New York stunned the Mystics and won by four points. Washington was a 12-point favorite in that game, and it’s clear the sportsbooks have adjusted their view of the Liberty.
New York has won two of its last three games and seen an uptick in offense. Still, I’m not confident he can get his offense moving against the Mystics’ defense. These are the two slowest teams in the league, but Washington has the second-best defensive rating in the league. That means if both teams play how they want, the advantage goes to the Mystics.
The Liberty can keep him close early, but sustaining success against the Mystics, especially with an often lethargic offense, will be a challenge. – Donnavan Smooth
Mystics vs Liberty UNDER 157 (-110)
I’ve suffered two bad beats in a row in the unders, with the overs hitting in the final seconds of Aces-Wings on Wednesday afternoon, as well as the Storm and Lynx game on Tuesday night. If you think that’s going to deter me from plunging into today’s freelance showdown in Brooklyn, think again.
Both teams play at the slowest tempos in the WNBA, and while New York’s offense has looked terrific in its last three games, two of those wins have come against the league’s two worst teams this season at Indiana and at home. against Minnesota.
Washington, after its worst defensive effort of the season at home against the Mercury, bounced back two days ago in resounding fashion, holding Phoenix to just 65 points after allowing 99 in overtime two days earlier.
Washington fell to the Liberty on June 3, setting up a huge streak for Sabrina Ionescu in her last five games. Expect the Mystics to find a more efficient way to slow her down this time, as both teams operate at a snail’s pace Thursday night. – Ben Heiser
