Friday (June 24)

  • Heavy to very heavy rain is very likely in isolated places over Konkan and Goa.
  • Heavy rain is possible in isolated places over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam , coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe.
  • Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning have been forecast in isolated locations over East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep.
  • Stormy weather (wind speed 40 to 60 km/h) is forecast over the east-central Arabian Sea, along and off the coasts of southern Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka.

Saturday (June 25)

  • Heavy to very heavy rain is very likely in isolated places over the Sub-Himalayas of West Bengal, Sikkim, Konkan and Goa.
  • Heavy rain is possible in isolated places over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe.
  • Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning have been forecast in isolated locations over East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep.
  • Stormy weather (wind speed 40 to 60 km/h) is forecast over the east-central Arabian Sea, along and off the coasts of southern Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala.

The influence of an offshore trough, a mid-level cyclonic circulation over the east-central Arabian Sea off the coast of Maharashtra, and strong westerly winds along the west coast are likely to give rise to the following events meteorological:

  • Fairly widespread to widespread showers with thunderstorms and lightning over Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep
  • Scattered to fairly widespread showers over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal over the next five days.
  • Isolated heavy rain over Gujarat, Kerala and Mahe for the next four days, over Konkan, Goa and the Karnataka coast for the next five days, over the ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra from June 24-26, over inland Karnataka on Saturday and over the coast of Andhra Pradesh on Friday.
  • Isolated very heavy rains over Konkan and Goa for the next three days.

The influence of south/southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal to the northeast and adjacent east India is likely to cause the following weather phenomena:

  • Widespread showers over northeast India, the Sub-Himalayas of West Bengal and Sikkim for the next five days.
  • Isolated heavy rain Sub-Himalayas West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next five days.
  • Isolated very heavy rains over the Sub-Himalayas of West Bengal during June 25-28.
  • Fairly widespread precipitation with thunderstorms and lightning over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Gangetic West Bengal over the next five days.
  • Isolated heavy rain over Vidarbha on Friday and Saturday, over Bihar on June 24-28, over Odisha on June 24-25 and June 27-28, and over Chhattisgarh on June 24-28.
  • Isolated very heavy rain over Bihar on Tuesday.
