🌊 The Rhode Island State Fire Marshal said an electrical panel was a factor in a fire at a Days Inn hotel in Middletown, reports WJAR. WJAR also reports that the cause of the fire at The Wayfinder hotel in Newport is still under investigation.

🌊 The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) advise people to avoid contact with Almy Pond in Newport due to blue-green algae (or cyanobacteria) blooms in the pond . Blue-green algae can produce toxins that can harm humans and animals.
